Horn, Stiletto Brass Quintet

Misty Tolle joined the Stiletto Brass Quintet in 2014. According to the Brass Herald, Stiletto is known for, “Virtuoso music making of the highest order.” This ensemble, made up of top female brass players from around the nation, has performed and recorded with Doc Severinsen and tours regularly. A fixture at national brass conferences, Stiletto Brass has been featured at the International Women’s Brass Conference, the International Trumpet Guild Conference, and the Great American Brass Band Festival. Deeply committed to education, they’ve done master classes at Boston Conservatory, University of Louisville and many others. Mrs. Tolle’s commitment to education prompted The Daily News to say of her, “[Her] contagious energy and easy, sparkling laugh almost disguise her drive to use art to change lives.” Her performing experience includes playing with Broadway orchestras, including Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, and Les Miserables and holding artist residencies throughout the country. She has recorded for BMI, Albany Records, New World Records, and most notably on EMI Classics with Itzhak Perlman on the album ‘Concertos from my Childhood’. She performed with The Orchestra of St. Lukes, Albany Symphony, the Prometheus Chamber Orchestra, Shaker Mountain Opera Festival, the Lexington Philharmonic, and is a consistent perfomer in Monarch Brass. She performed with Il Divo at the Emmy’s, with South Korean sensation Sumi Jo at Carnegie Hall, with Five for Fighting at Interlochen and with many popular ensembles in Radio City Music Hall. Her wind quintet, Ariel Winds was founded while she was a student at The Juilliard School. The quintet was awarded a Rural Residency by Chamber Music America and was later managed by MCM Artists. Mrs. Tolle is currently Professor of Horn at Transylvania University and a member of the horn faculty at Interlochen Arts Camp.
